120 even and moderate fleshed steers. calved May-June weighing 425 on Oct. 1, weaned early Nov. Out of 4-5 frame very easy fleshing cows. Sire groups include Emulation, Emblazon 854E, Wye, Pinebank 41/97 and Glanworth 130-03. Cattle are bred for versatility. Will make yearlings, grass finishers or feed lot calves. Replacement hfrs weighed 925 with hip heights at 47-49 inches at 16-17 months on grass hay only, which makes me believe steers would do well in 17-18 months on grass. They mature early and are very functional in any environment. Steers can be contracted for March delivery or can be delivered earlier, price will be determined based on delivery date. Liquidating our Grass-fed Beef Business Herd due to drought. Cattle have been selected to produce tender, Choice grade beef consistently on grass, wean calves in good condition and be easy to handle. Top-of-the-breed genetics in Red and Black Angus with some crossed to Rotokawa Devon out of New Zealand.

Offering 25 Cows, including 2 with AI sired bull calves at side. Remainder confirmed preganant as of 9/15. Two AI bred to Rotokawa Devon 93, 4 AI bred to top carcass and disposition Black Angus bulls Remainder bred to proven calving ease Reg. Red Angus herd bull. These cows have been through three rounds of culling for productivity, fertility, efficiency and disposition. This is a YOUNG herd (19 are 5 years of age or less), with lots of productivity! Average mature weight will be 1150-1250.

Also offering 22 weaned calves (17 weaned in July, 5 weaned early Sept). 11 heifers, 11 bulls and steers. All registered or registerable in Red and/or Black Angus. Outstanding replacement females, herd sire prospects or beef. Older calves weighing 500-750; newly weaned calves 350-450

These cattle have been the foundation of our pastured beef business. You’ll rarely find a group of cows this good. All cattle have been MLV vaccinated. Herd has been tested for Johne’s, Neospora and Leukosis.

Price: $1000 per cow for the whole herd; individual prices available for subsets. July weaned calves $800 each for all 17, $600 each for the Sept weaned calves.

HAVE GRASS?–I NEED GRASS! I am looking for a place north of Texas that has grass to take my 50 grassfed beef producing cows and take care of them on a 50% basis–The cows weigh around 900#–some have calves now, I am putting bulls in tomorrow–Sept.13, 2011 (cows bred to 50% Lowline)– In the 50 hd. about 10 would be bred hfrs (bred to a pb Lowline bull)–The cows’ bloodline is basically 50% Angus X 50% Lowline but also including 3 fullblood Red Devon cows and 3 fullblood Belted Galloway cows–I will pay for transportation costs from here to there–None of these cattle have ever had any grain–If interested, please call Joe Maddox–I would hope this arrangement would be on a long term basis–

Black Katahdin Ram

Purebred highly linebred Katahdin ram born Feburary 2011. he is not papered but is purebred and is ready for commercial service. He is the result of a mother son breeding and has been line bred for generations.
He is polled and both parents are polled. he is all natural but due to drought he has had very limited feed.
